No matter where you are in Asia, a quality burger is one of the hardest things to find.

Now, to be clear, we’re obsessed with Asian food. It’s so freaking good. From Korean street food to Sri Lankan cafes, Penang curry in Thailand, and Bali’s local warungs.

We also loved all the food we got to try while living in Bali.

However, we’ve gone years living overseas without seeing a proper burger. So, after making Canggu our home base, we made it our mission to track down the best burgers in Canggu.

Surprisingly, we did find a few places with delicious burgers. They aren’t quite what you’d get in the U.S. or Australia, but they come pretty close!

Here are all the burger joints we found (and thought were worthwhile)!

We’ll share where you can find each burger joint (including any locations outside of Canggu), the average cost of a burger, its opening hours, and what makes it one of the best places to get a burger in Canggu. Let’s dig in!

A bustling street in Canggu lined with billboards.

1. BB52 Burgers

BB52 is the best burger spot in Bali, and it was our go-to when we wanted a great burger in Canggu (or at Uluwatu/Ungasan–their other locations).

We came here almost every single Tuesday because, at the time, they were offering 50% off their three most popular burgers:

The Cheeseburger, The OG, and The Skinny B****.

With the discount, we could get two burgers and waffle fries for less than 150k ($10), so it was always a no-brainer if we were in town on Tuesday and going out for dinner.

A mouthwatering gourmet burger from BB52 in Canggu presented on a metal tray, featuring beef patty with melted cheese, topped with caramelized glaze.

They’re also an excellent late-night spot, open every day until 3:00 AM!

But even outside of their Tuesday deal, the selection was awesome. They’re always running specials – last we saw, it was a “Pantone Truffle Burger,” and before that, it was a Korean-style ‘Gangnam Burger.’

Plenty of other items are on the menu, such as breakfast burgers, fried chicken sandwiches, subs, and vegan burgers.

Their Canggu location is tucked away between Echo Beach and Batu Bolong, so it’s easy to miss. If you’re having trouble, just look for Pizza Fabbrica Canggu—it’s right behind it.

What We Ordered: The OG, The Skinny B***, and Waffle Fries
Cost: 100-150k ($7-10) per person
Opening Hours: 11:00 AM – 3:00 AM
Location: Echo Beach (Also has locations in Ungasan and Uluwatu)

2. Pit Stop

Pit Stop has been around for 10+ years, which is longer than any other spot on this list.

It’s right at the junction of Batu Bolong and the infamous “shortcut,” and we absolutely loved the burgers here back in 2018/2019.

A street view of Pit Stop, a restaurant with a green awning and a sign featuring a cartoon burger.

Unfortunately, when we tried it again this year, it was clear that the quality had taken a bit of a nosedive. It’s not nearly as tasty as other burgers in Canggu.

But it’s still on this list because it’s SO much cheaper than other places.

All of their burgers are less than 75K, and they have a few different burger selections. You can get classic beef, chicken, lamb, chickpea (veggie burger), snapper filet, or imported Australian Waygu beef.

The interior of Pit Stop restaurant, featuring a colorful menu board displaying various burger options and other items like soft drinks and milkshakes.

Definitely splurge and get the King Burger with Australian Waygu beef. It’s way more filling, and the meat just tastes like it has more quality and flavor. The others taste like a regular cheeseburger at Burger King or McDonald’s.

Note: The other downside of Pit Stop is that there is very little seating right on the busiest intersection in Canggu. So, most people ordering here get takeaway, including us.

What We Ordered: King Burger & Carnivore
Cost: 50-75k per person
Opening Hours: 11:00 AM – 4:00 AM
Location: Batu Bolong (2nd location near the Jl. Batu Belig/Jl. Raya Kerobokan junction).

3. Naked Bun Bali

BB52 might be our favorite burger place in Canggu, but Naked Bun might be the best-tasting burger. The only reason it’s not our favorite is because the prices are a bit steeper, and they don’t have the insane Tuesday deal!

But it’s still affordable because every burger comes with your choice of sweet potato or french fries. The other cool part about Naked Bun is that it’s the only burger restaurant we found in Canggu that felt like a local spot.

A street view of Naked Bun, a modern restaurant with an open-air design and a sleek black sign featuring a cocktail glass and the text "BURGERS AND COCKTAILS." The exterior includes a small bar area with hanging plants and a mix of contemporary and rustic elements.

All the others had multiple locations throughout Bali.

We stopped here a couple of times to order takeout, and—unless it was Tuesday—this quickly became our go-to spot for a burger. We loved their Bacon Deluxe, Monster, and Chicken Snitty.

In addition to burgers, they also serve appetizers, pizza, and salads (all under 75K), and there’s also a massive drink menu with signature cocktails and other beverages.

The other big draw is that they just renovated their space for air conditioning!

So many of the restaurants in Canggu are open-air, so we were really excited when we found out they were renovating their building to have a cooler indoor area.

What We Ordered: Bacon Deluxe & Chicken Snitty
Cost: 90-120k per person
Opening Hours: 11:30 AM – 9:45 PM
Location: Echo Beach

4. Burger Brothers

Burger Brothers is the largest burger chain in the area, with four locations in and around Canggu: one in Batu Bolong, Berawa, Perenenan, and Kerabokan (although Kerabokan isn’t really in Canggu).

The burgers here are really good, and the atmosphere reminds us of a classic diner back in the States.

A street view of Burger Brothers, a restaurant with a thatched roof and a bright red sign. Several scooters are parked in front of the establishment, and wooden picnic tables are set up for outdoor seating.

People also love that it’s on Batu Bolong, right up the street from The Lawn/Old Man’s, so you can walk here from the beach in about 5 minutes.

The burgers are great, too! All the meat, including the chicken sandwiches and fish fillets, tastes high-quality.

But we’d also warn you that what you get is pretty expensive.

You can choose between a Solo, Double, or Trio burger (representing the number of patties you get). Even if you stick to a solo burger, the total will still be between 80-120K ($5-8). If you want a double/trio, you’re looking at a bill of 100-150K ($7-10).

Also, none of the burgers come with fries. But we’d tell you to skip them anyway because they were super bland compared to the fries at Naked Bun or BB52.

Cost: 90-110k per person
Opening Hours: 11:00 AM – 3:00 AM (Batu Bolong/Perenenan) / 10:30 AM – 1:30 AM (Berawa)
Locations: Perenenan, Batu Bolong, and Berawa

5. BO$$MAN Burger Bali

BO$$MAN is probably the trendiest burger restaurant in Bali. You’ll be able to tell right away that its interior is modeled after McDonald’s.

It feels just like a modern fast-food chain to us.

A street view of Bo$$man, a modern fast-food restaurant with a white and orange exterior. The storefront features large windows displaying advertisements, including one for a burger and another promoting a special offer.

However, the food here is really good, and there are a ton of options. In addition to the classic cheeseburgers, you’ll find:

  • Buttermilk Fried Chicken (Easy Money)
  • Smashburgers (Smashin’)
  • Big Mac knock-offs (McLovin’)
  • Babi Guling pulled pork sandwiches (Lucky Pig)
  • Jalapeño burgers (Dinero)
  • Vegan Burger (The Venus – made from edamame, quinoa, sunflower seeds, and beetroot).

Everyone’s favorite patty, though, seems to be the ‘Numero Uno.’ It’s a classic burger with bacon, grilled onions, creole chutney, house aioli, and BBQ sauce.

They’re also the only place on this list serving other Western staples, such as loaded fries, truffle fries, chicken tenders, and hot dogs.

BO$$MAN has another location in Seminyak, but if you’re looking for their shop in Canggu, it’s right on Pantai Batu Bolong, about 1 kilometer from the beach and right across the street from Pit Stop.

Cost: 70-130k
Opening Hours: 11:00 AM – 3:00 AM
Location: Batu Bolong

More Places to Eat in Canggu

We spent over 2 months eating our way through Canggu and trying as many different restaurants as possible. Ultimately, we found much more than a couple of tasty burger joints. Here are some of our other round-ups of places to eat around town!

A gourmet burger on a sesame seed bun, presented on a wooden cutting board. The burger is topped with fresh avocado slices, lettuce, and tomato, alongside a spoonful of creamy sauce in a small teal dish. The burger sits on paper with a "Bread Basket" logo, suggesting a casual yet stylish dining experience.

You can also find burgers at other restaurants around Canggu.

A surprising number of places, whether or not they specialize in serving Western food, have burgers on their menus.

We’ve ordered burgers a couple of times at these eateries, and here are a few of the restaurants we remember serving pretty good burgers:

But these were rarely better than what we’d get at a proper burger joint such as BB52, Naked Bun, or BossMan.

Final Thoughts

We’ve spent a lot of time traveling through Asia, and we love the food so much.

But if we want something that reminds us of home (as Americans), the first thing that comes to mind is a hearty burger with fries.

That’s why, when we were actually living here, it was such a big deal to find a few burgers in Canggu that could help curb our homesickness.
