Madeira At A Glance
We have spent a significant amount of time traveling around Madiera and were blown away by the natural beauty and incredible hiking experiences!
Exploring Madeira’s unique levadas was probably our favorite part! These irrigation channels offer accessible hiking paths through stunning scenery, including waterfalls and dense forests!
We stayed in Ribeira Brava, which is a smaller village near the capital city of Funchal, which made it really easy to ride the iconic toboggan sled in Monte, check out Cรขmara de Lobos, and get unreal views of the coast from the Cabo Girรฃo skywalk, offering breathtaking views from one of the world’s highest sea cliffs.
Madeira’s food is delicious and reflects its rich cultural heritage, with local specialties like espetada (beef skewers), bolo do caco (traditional bread), and world-famous Madeira wine.
Our experience in Madeira was arguably our most memorable trip yet. We think back on it all the time. Now, we’re excited to share practical advice and insights about our experiences in Madeira through our itineraries and other informative posts!
