Canggu has been flooded with restaurants over the past few years, and it’s not slowing down anytime soon. There is a MASSIVE variety of great restaurants, brunch cafés, and coffee shops to choose from. There is something for travelers of any budget. Whether you are looking for something cheap or a romantic night out with your partner, Canggu won’t disappoint you!
We swear to you that of all the awesome things to do in Canggu, our favorite thing about the town is FOOD. We have traveled all around the world and still haven’t found a place like it.
No matter what kind of food you’re in the mood for, we promise this list will have something for you!
New Tax/Service Charge in Bali
A few years ago, we noticed that restaurants around Bali began excluding tax and service from the bill, and that’s now become commonplace in Canggu. Even small cafés and takeaway stands are doing it. We don’t remember it being like this before 2020.
It’s not cheap either!
Tax is normally around 10%, and service is between 6-10% (depending on the restaurant).
As Americans, we’re used to this, but many travelers are not, so we think it’s important to say something so you’re not caught off guard when you get the bill.
Best Cafés & Brunch Spots
Canggu loves a good brunch spot, and there are seemingly endless places to grab a smoothie bowl, avocado toast, or egg scramble.
While living in Canggu, we went out for brunch almost every morning, and here are the brunch spots that were so good that we became regulars!
1. ZIN Café
Opening Hours: 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Location: Batu Bolong
A/C Seating: Yes
ZIN’s growth over the past few years has been wild. It started as a cozy little coffee and breakfast spot, but has evolved into a vibrant lifestyle community!

Today, ZIN is a 2-story café with its own coffee roastery, a fitness studio, a cocktail bar, a co-working space, hotel rooms, a spa, and an event space. The hotel rooms, admittedly, are a bit on the pricier side, but we’d come here all the time for breakfast before their ZYCLE classes.
For breakfast and brunch, ZIN has a huge menu. You can find various toasts, power bowls, omelets, smoothie bowls, pancakes, French toast, and overnight oats. We also love that they create house recipes like Korean Eggs Benedict or Tex-Mex Avocado Toast.
If you’re an early riser, they also offer free coffee with any breakfast item between 7 and 8 AM.
2. Ruko Café
Opening Hours: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Location: Berawa
A/C Seating: Yes
Ruko Café is a small Australian café super close to Berawa Beach and Atlas Beach Club. It’s also right around the corner from Koa D’ Surfer Hotel, where we stayed for nearly a week on our honeymoon in Bali!
Breakfast is served all day here, and some fan favorites include the Pulled Pork Benedict, Ruko Breakfast (Aussie-platter), and the French Kiss (Ham & Cheese croissant)
They also have more ‘normal’ breakfast options, like breakfast bowls or avo toast, and you can build your own breakfast from a list of individually priced ingredients.
Sarah and I ordered the toasties, though, since they’re only 50K on Tuesdays!
3. Mr. Sista
Opening Hours: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Location: Berawa
A/C Seating: No
Mr. Sista may fly under the radar compared to other places to get brunch in Canggu, but it was a nice surprise. The prices were competitive with everything around, but their portions were significantly larger!

The menu offers a typical selection of breakfast items, including eggs, Benedict, avocado toast, omelets, pancakes, and bagels. However, we shared the BBQ Jackfruit Soul Bowl and the Brekkie Tacos.
Both tasted phenomenal and exceeded our expectations!
4. Hungry Bird Coffee
Opening Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Location: Berawa
A/C Seating: Yes
Hungry Bird has been a staple among expats and travelers in Canggu for quite some time.
It’s primarily known for being one of the longest-standing coffee shops in town, but we actually love the food here, especially the breakfast!
I remember getting the pancakes back on our very first visit to Canggu in 2018, and they haven’t changed a bit! The Eggs on Toast and Avocado Toast are also really good, and if you’re here closer to lunch, we’ve also tried (and loved) the chicken salad, the Ayam burger, and their special Hungry Bird Nasi Goreng.
It’s also way cheaper than many of the places on this list and offers many of the same options.
5. Copenhagen
Opening Hours: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Echo Beach) / 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM (Berawa)
Location: Echo Beach & Berawa
A/C Seating: Yes
Cøpenhagen has two locations in Canggu, and the most popular thing on the menu is their ‘build your own feast’ breakfast option, which allows you to customize your own meal from a list of 25+ breakfast items.

When we visited earlier this year, the prices were 3 pieces for 75K or 5 pieces for 115K.
We ordered the 3-piece option, which included a smoothie bowl, chia pudding, and a cinnamon roll. The portions were much smaller than we were hoping for, but they were delicious!
6. Crate Café
Opening Hours: 6:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Location: Batu Bolong
A/C Seating: No

Formerly known as Lifescrate, Crate Café is the most famous breakfast spot in town. The open-air pavilion was established way back in 2014, and you’ll see it on every list of the best places to eat in Canggu.
The place is busy all morning long, but there’s enough seating that if you stay patient, you should be able to find a spot. You can even get in line to order food (they don’t come to you) while you wait for a seat to open up.

Everything on the menu is 65K (tax/tip included), and the portions are amazing. Sometimes, we have trouble finishing all of our food–lol.
We’ve tried most of the menu, and everything tastes great. However, some of our favorites include the Brekkie Plate, Peas Please, Calrrito, The Barber, Brekkie2GoGo, and Chia Boi!
7. The Avocado Factory
Opening Hours: 7:00 AM – 10:30 PM
Location: Batu Bolong
A/C Seating: Yes
For those tired of the classic smashed avocado toast, head to Bali’s first official Avocado Bar, The Avocado Factory.
Everything on the menu is some avocado-themed spin on a classic dish.

In the morning, that means avocado pancakes, steak & eggs with avocado, or avocado cheese toasties. Later in the day, you can get sandwiches, rice bowls, or salads with avocado. They even have a Crispy Avocado Burger (the patty is made from fried avocado).
But there are also smoothie bowls and a selection of avocado toast for people who don’t want to venture out of their comfort zone.
8. Café Vida
Opening Hours: 7:00 AM – 10:30 PM
Location: Batu Bolong
A/C Seating: Yes
Café Vida is another fancier place to get breakfast or brunch in Canggu, and the prices reflect that.
But it’s popular for a reason, and you’ll still find a packed house most mornings! The atmosphere feels very upscale, and the coolest part about the café is that they put a lot of effort into putting a unique twist on traditional breakfast in Canggu.
Some of the menu items that stuck out to us were the Sweet Potato Brioche French Toast, the Scrambled Tofu, and the Green Eggs Omelette.
9. Bread Basket
Opening Hours: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Location: Echo Beach
A/C Seating: Yes
Primarily known as a bakery, we’d often stop by Bread Basket to get fresh sourdough to have around our villa. But one time, we decided to order something a little more hearty and were blown away by how good it was!

We got the build-your-own bagel sandwich and shakshuka. Both were phenomenal, so that’s what we ordered every time now!
The ambiance is charming and reminiscent of a local Italian bakery. You can also try Bread Basket at their other locations in Kerobokan, Uluwatu, and Sanur.
10. Baked.
Opening Hours: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (Berawa) 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Pererenan)
Location: Berawa / Pererenan
A/C Seating: Yes
BAKED. is another popular brunch spot with several locations across Bali, including two in Canggu.

We’ve visited both Canggu locations and their new spot in Uluwatu, but haven’t yet made it to their 4th location in Seminyak.
Whenever we go to BAKED, we’re usually just looking for great coffee and a pastry. But they do have more filling meals on the menu, like egg scrambles, bennies, muffins, bagel sandwiches, and open-faced toast.
Sarah once tried the Avocado Toast, which was pretty good, and made sure to save room for the ‘sourdough soft-serve’ ice cream!
11. Machinery Eatery
Opening Hours: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Location: Pererenan
A/C Seating: Yes
One of the few places we ventured to in Pererenan is the Machinery Café.

They also have a location in Legian. Both spots boast an eclectic atmosphere with garage-themed décor, and water is served in old liquor bottles, adding to the garage atmosphere.
You might see photos online or on Instagram showcasing a menu with 40K NET dishes, but this is no longer up to date. All the dishes you see, like egg scrambles, French toast, porridge, smoothie bowls, and omelets, are now priced between 50 and 80K.

We were a little disappointed about that, but the food was still worth it for the price. We particularly enjoyed the chicken, which is available for all-day brunch.
12. Nüde
Opening Hours: 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Location: Berawa
A/C Seating: Yes
Nüde Bali is a favorite among travelers staying in Berawa, particularly for breakfast and brunch (served until 4:00 PM), but we’ve also enjoyed dinner here, too.

It probably won’t last forever, but at the time of writing, Nüde offers 50% off the entire menu on Friday after 6:00 PM. We got Beef Shank Ragu, Chipotle Chicken Power Bowl, sweet potato fries, and meatballs, all for less than 150K ($10).
Back to breakfast, though, there’s a nice balance between healthy and indulgent meals.
Think Eggs Benedict and Smoothie Bowls listed next to the Snickers Waffles, Banana Bread, and Chocolate French Toast!
13. Sprout
Opening Hours: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Location: Berawa
A/C Seating: Yes

Sprout is a fantastic spot for a healthy breakfast or brunch in Canggu. We discovered it late in our Bali stay, which was a bit disappointing since we couldn’t visit as often as we would have liked.
The restaurant is part of The Garden, an Early Learning Center. The restaurant uses produce grown in its own organic vegetable patch, which also serves as an educational resource for the children. We think that’s so cool!

The food is exceptionally fresh, and I thought the breakfast baguette hit the spot! Sarah’s avocado toast was so loaded that you could barely see the bread under all the toppings!
14. Milu by Nook
Opening Hours: 8:00 AM – 11:00 PM
Location: Berawa
A/C Seating: No
Milu by Nook serves an excellent breakfast, but its atmosphere is truly what makes it a must-visit breakfast spot in Berawa. The seating is completely open-air and overlooks a beautiful rice field.
We also appreciate that the prices have stayed around 65k per plate! It seems like every time we go back to Bali, the prices go up significantly, but Milu By Nook is still very similar to when we first visited 5 years ago!
Their menu includes all the typical brunch staples you’d expect in Canggu, but their standout dish is the Milu’s Chicken Schnitzel Eggs Benedict, complete with feta and avocado!
Milu is also a popular choice for lunch and dinner, with a full menu of seafood dishes, burgers, curries, salads, and bratwurst.
15. Monsieur Spoon
Opening Hours: 8:00 AM – 11:00 PM
Location: Batu Bolong
A/C Seating: Yes
Monsieur Spoon is a beloved French bakery-café founded by two Parisian cousins in 2012. Now, there are locations all over Bali, and the Canggu bakery is right on Batu Bolong (next to Love Anchor Market).
Everything is still made using traditional French techniques, from handmade French pastries to cakes, artisan bread, and savory breakfast items.
They also have a wide selection of soups, salads, and European entrees like Chicken Tarragon, Slow Cooked Braised Beef, and Mykynos Meatballs with Tzatziki.
16. Café Coach
Opening Hours: 8:00 AM – 11:00 PM
Location: Batu Bolong
A/C Seating: Yes
You might not think much of the name, but ‘Café Coach‘ is actually set up by a life coaching program to foster connections and networking among young professionals living in Bali.
Because of this, after 6:00 PM, it transforms into a lively social with food and cocktails.
But during the day, it’s a classy co-working café with excellent coffee and all-day breakfast (vegan options available)!
We’ve only tried the coffee, but the food always looked so fancy, so we’re eager to get back and try it as soon as we can! The upstairs seating is mainly for co-working, while the lower level is ideal for socializing over brunch.
Best Healthy Vegan Eateries
Another reason Canggu is such a haven for foodies is that it’s one of the best places in the world for ultra-healthy restaurants.
You’ll also find a ton of quality vegan food. A couple of our favorite restaurants in Canggu are 100% plant-based. Even if they aren’t vegan, almost every restaurant offers gluten-free options.
Alternative milk options are the norm at coffee shops, and the restaurant owners do their best to serve organic, locally sourced produce.
17. Superfood Canggu
Opening Hours: 7:15 AM – 10:00 PM
Location: Batu Bolong
While we were living at our villa on Jl. Nelayan, Superfood Canggu became one of the places we went most often for dinner.

They have a full menu with all-day food like burgers, main entrees, rice paper rolls, soup, and Indonesian platters for two. But every single time, we opted for the Salad Bar.
It was a ‘Create Your Own’ style, where you choose:
- One Heath Ball (Chicken/Beef/Tofu/Sausage)
- Greens (As many as you like)
- Carb Base (Zucchini Noodles were our fav)
- 4 Toppings (Sweet Potatoes, Carrots, Cabbage, Kimchi, etc.
- Dressing
It ended up being such a massive salad, so filling, and everything except the health ball was raw vegan, which made it taste extremely fresh.
They also offer a similar option for smoothie bowls and health shots!
18. Alkaline
Opening Hours: 8:00 AM – 9:30 PM
Location: Batu Bolong
Alkaline is a restaurant/grocery store whose motto is “Let our food be your medicine.”

They’re located at the front of Serenity Eco Guesthouse. Its menu features some of Canggu’s most affordable and delicious dishes. Every dish uses only whole food ingredients, and most of their desserts are gluten-free, dairy-free, egg-free, and sugar-free.

It’s honestly such a wholesome and eco-friendly space. We particularly love the tofu coconut curry. It’s also one of the coolest yoga studios and places to stay in Canggu.
We often grabbed a snack or lunch there after morning yoga, and Sarah would almost always walk over and get the Cacao Bliss bowl after her spin class across the street at ZYCLE.
19. Secret Spot
Opening Hours: 7:00 AM – Midnight (Batu Bolong) / 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM (Berawa)
Location: Batu Bolong / Berawa
A lot of the restaurants on this list were recommended to us or we read about them online before trying them for ourselves, but we stumbled upon Secret Spot totally by accident one day.

We were trying to check out Blacklist Coffee Roasters across the street, and the only parking space was in front of a secret spot. We decided to take a peek inside and found it to have a fantastic atmosphere for grabbing coffee, having dinner, and even getting some work done.
There’s an air-conditioned area where most people have laptops out and a two-floor open-air seating area in the back with a cocktail bar!

We were also impressed by how many vegan options there were, and the gluten-free vegan bread was the best we’ve found in Bali.
20. Shady Shack
Opening Hours: 7:30 AM – 10:30 PM
Location: Echo Beach
Shady Shack has been a beloved spot in Canggu since it opened in 2016, making its mark as one of the first sustainable, fully vegan eateries we experienced in Bali.

This open-air gem is situated on the same street as I AM Vegan Babe, right in the bustling heart of Canggu, making it easily accessible from anywhere in town.
Prices here are notably lower than those of other vegan options in Canggu. Most breakfast bowls and dishes cost around 75K ($5), while vegan burgers and main dinner plates cost closer to 90K ($6).
Their menu is diverse, featuring Buddha bowls, salads, jackfruit tacos, an all-day breakfast selection, and even cauliflower steak!
21. I am Vegan Babe
Opening Hours: 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Location: Echo Beach
I Am Vegan Babe is a chic restaurant near Echo Beach, situated right next to Shady Shack. This super aesthetic café is completely vegan.
Their menu is entirely free of animal-derived products, including honey, which is ideal for those who strictly adhere to a vegan diet.

Among all the vegan restaurants we visited in Canggu, this one was the busiest. It’s always packed. The café has two floors: the spacious top floor is great for getting some work done, while the bottom floor is open-air.
We stopped by for breakfast before heading to the beach and ordered coffee and coconut oatmeal. Although the portions were a bit pricey, they were really delicious.
We also tried a ginger shot, which was served with fresh orange juice and lime juice as chasers.
22. Dispensary by Body Factory
Opening Hours: 7:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Location: Batu Bolong
Dispensary is a café serviced by Body Factory (one of the premier gyms in Canggu) and, as you can imagine, they’re all about health and fitness.
The coffee is really good, but we actually loved the health bowls. You get to hand-pick all of the items that go into it and pay by the item (so it can be as budget-friendly as you need).
They also have signature meals already put together for you, though. All of these meals have the macros right next to them, so you know exactly how much protein, fat, carbs, and calories are in every dish.
Other popular things we saw people get were their protein shakes, sugar-free protein desserts, and superfood-infused beverages.
Best Indonesian Warungs
Most of the restaurants you see in Canggu are very Western. It’s an extremely touristy, expat-heavy area, and years of gentrification have sadly pushed out a lot of local warungs.
But some have survived, and you can still get quality, local Indonesian food in Canggu if you know where to look. Here are some of our favorite places to try local dishes.
23. Warung Bu Mi
Opening Hours: 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Location: Batu Bolong
Warung Bu Mi has been a staple in Canggu for years. I remember it being incredibly popular even back on our honeymoon in 2018!

Nearly a decade later, it’s still a favorite among locals and visitors alike.
The menu varies daily, and you only pay for what you put on your plate. Each time we visited, there were a couple of meat options, a variety of grilled vegetables, fried veggies, and an impressive selection of tofu dishes.
We were pleasantly surprised by the number of vegan options available. In fact, there was more tofu than meat!
The restaurant is completely open-air with limited seating, so you might have to wait a bit for a spot in the evenings. The upside is that with such a high turnover of guests, the food is always fresh.
24. Warung Sika
Opening Hours: 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Location: Echo Beach
Since it was close to the beach, we had a meal at Warung Sika a few times each week. IT was such an easy, cheap place where I knew I’d be full after spending just 45K ($3).

The menu is limited, primarily featuring a cafeteria-style buffet. You simply point to what you’d like, and they serve it onto your plate.
Unlike Warung Bu Mi, there are no labels indicating what each dish is or the prices, so you may need to ask if something is unfamiliar.
Once your plate is assembled, they hand you a small laminated card with the total. Typically, we shared a large plate of Mie Goreng with chicken and vegetables, along with some tasty BBQ grilled chicken (the priciest item). Even then, it only cost 60K (about 30k per person).
25. Ithaka Warung
Opening Hours: 7:00 AM – 11:00 PM
Location: Batu Bolong
Sarah and I first visited Ithaka Warung back during our honeymoon in Bali.
At that time, Canggu was a lot different, and this was our first introduction to incredibly affordable Indonesian cuisine.
I recall us ordering four massive dishes for less than $10. Unlike other warungs on this list, Ithaka serves all its dishes in an organized manner, rather than in a cafeteria-style setting. I specifically remember the Katsu Curry standing out, even though it’s not traditionally Indonesian.

Ithaka Warung has changed quite a bit since then.
It’s become more expensive – expect to pay at least 75k ($5) per plate – and operates more like a typical restaurant. They’ve also moved from a cozy hole-in-the-wall to an open-air balcony with a sunset view over Batu Bolong.
What hasn’t changed is how delicious the Asian dishes are. Our favorites now include the Indian curry and Khao Soi (Thai Curry Noodle Soup). They also offer all the traditional Balinese dishes you’d expect, such as Nasi Goreng, Soto Ayam, and Beef Rendang Curry.
26. Casa Tua
Opening Hours: 3:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Location: Batu Bolong
Casa Tua is a dinner-only restaurant (originally known as ‘Dandelion’) that we discovered on our second trip to Canggu.
The atmosphere is incredibly cozy. You remove your shoes before entering, and most of the seating is on the floor, though there are some regular seats for those who prefer them (I am not flexible enough to sit on the floor for long).
Casa Tua serves exclusively Balinese dishes that taste truly authentic. The meat was tender, the vegetables were fresh, and the spices were perfect! Also, among all the Indonesian restaurants we visited in Canggu, this is where you’ll find the best staff!
Best Burgers in Canggu
Doing a complete 180º from local Indonesian food, let’s talk about the best burgers in Canggu.
We were surprised to find quite a few burger joints have popped up in Canggu over the past 5 years, and a few of them actually hit the spot!
27. BB52
Opening Hours: 11:00 AM – 3:00 AM
Location: Echo Beach
BB52 is, without a doubt, the best place to get a burger if you want a delicious burger in Canggu, Uluwatu, or Ungasan.

We became regulars on Tuesdays since they offered a 50% discount on their top three burgers: The Cheeseburger, The OG, and The Skinny B****. With this deal, we could enjoy two burgers and waffle fries for under 150k ($10).
Their burgers are really good, too. It wasn’t just about the deal.
They also have more signature burgers on the menu and create exclusive seasonal recipes. Last we saw, it was the “Pantone Truffle Burger,” and before that, a Korean-style ‘Gangnam Burger.’
28. Naked Bun
Opening Hours: 11:30 AM – 9:45 PM
Location: Echo Beach
When it comes to the best-tasting burger, Naked Bun takes the crown, and each burger comes with fries. They don’t have the same specials as BB52, but it’s still reasonably priced.

We visited Naked Bun several times for takeout, and unless it was Tuesday, this quickly became one of our favorite burger joints. We loved their Bacon Deluxe, Monster, and Chicken Snitty.
However, they offer appetizers, pizza, and salads (all under 75K), and they have an extensive drink menu featuring signature cocktails and other beverages.
29. Bossman
Opening Hours: 11:00 AM – 3:00 AM
Location: Batu Bolong
BOSSMAN is a new establishment in Canggu, and it really leans into the modern fast-food chain aesthetic.

However, many people love to stop here late at night. They offer classic cheeseburgers plus signature burgers such as the Easy Money (Buttermilk Fried Chicken), McLovin’ (Big Mac knock-off), Lucky Pig (Babi Guling pulled pork), and Numero Uno (a classic burger with bacon, grilled onions, creole chutney, and BBQ sauce).
BOSSMAN also has loaded fries, truffle fries, chicken tenders, and hot dogs on the menu.
30. Black Sand Brewery
Opening Hours: 12:00 PM – 12:00 AM
Location: Batu Bolong
Black Sand Brewery is Canggu’s best brewhouse. They offer a diverse range of unfiltered, unpasteurized brews, crafted without additives, including a signature Kolsch, IPA, Salted Lime Sour, Amber Ale, and some guest taps!
However, the food is amazing, too. They serve incredible burgers, pasta, pizza, steak, and some of the best chicken wings we’ve had in Bali. They were SO good.
The venue is also really cool! The bar sits under a huge pavilion, and there’s a large Biergarten out back overlooking Bali’s rice fields and palm trees. It’s a super relaxing place to share dinner with some friends!
They also have specials every single week, like 2-4-1 beers and apertivos!
Best Pizza & Italian Food
31. Bottega Italiana
Opening Hours: 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Location: Batu Bolong / Berawa
Bottega Italiana is one of those places where you can taste the quality in every single bite. It’s a small Italian deli-style restaurant that makes fresh pasta and sauces daily, and you can tell they take their craft seriously.
The setup is simple — you choose your pasta type, pick a sauce, and add toppings if you like.
They also have a short menu of signature pasta dishes if you’d rather not make decisions. Our go-to is the Pappardelle with Bolognese, but the Truffle Tagliatelle is dangerously good, too. We also love their fresh bread and burrata starters. And if you’re not in the mood for pasta, they have a few salads and panini options.
Portions are generous, prices are fair for the quality, and it’s an easy spot for a quick but memorable Italian meal in Canggu.
32. Da Roma
Opening Hours: 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Location: Berawa
Da Roma is an Italian spot that specializes in authentic wood-fired pizza, pasta, and calzones, but what really sets them apart is their commitment to sustainability and clean cooking.
Everything here is made with intention. They use grass-fed butter, extra virgin olive or coconut oil, locally grown vegetables, and Balinese sea salt. All of their cookware is toxin-free, and even the pizza boxes are eco-friendly.
For anyone following a special diet, they also offer Keto-friendly options, which isn’t something you find everywhere in Canggu.
33. Milk & Madu (Pizza)
Opening Hours: 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Location: Batu Bolong / Berawa
With two locations in Canggu (plus one in Ubud), Milk & Madu has earned a loyal following among both brunch lovers and pizza fans. The original Berawa location still pulls in a crowd daily thanks to its inviting atmosphere, creative menu, and famous 1+1 pizza nights.
Their brunch menu alone could keep you coming back, with smoothie bowls, loaded toasts, and hearty egg dishes, but the pizzas are what really make them stand out.

We love the ‘GOT BEEF ’ESSE’ and the ‘PIZZA, WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS.’
But you can’t really go wrong with anything on the list!
Yes, the prices are a bit higher than some other cafés in Canggu, but the quality and portion sizes make it one of the most worthwhile places to eat in Bali. We’d order takeout during 1+1 pizza nights and have dinner together on the beach!
34. Doughboys Pizza Canggu
Opening Hours: 11:00 AM – 12:00 AM
Location: Batu Bolong
Doughboys Pizza is the spot to hit when you’re craving a proper New York–style slice in Canggu.
It’s a great vibe with an open kitchen where you can watch the dough get tossed and the pies slide into the oven.
You can order by the slice (they’re massive slices) as well as whole pizzas, and the menu has a good mix of classic combos and more creative options. The Pepperoni is a safe bet if you want something familiar, but the Truffle Mushroom and Spicy Sausage pies are worth branching out for.
Best Tacos & Mexican Food
Surprisingly, Canggu has quite a few Mexican restaurants, including a handful of laid-back cantinas and modern spots with creative twists on classic dishes.
You’ll find everything from street-style tacos and burritos to loaded nachos and fresh guacamole that’s worth coming back for. Whether you want a casual lunch after the beach or a lively dinner with friends, these are our top picks for Mexican food in Canggu.
35. The Common
Opening Hours: 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Location: Batu Bolong
The Common is the best spot to get Mexican take on breakfast food in Canggu.
They offer meals like huevos rancheros, chorizo brekky tacos, breakfast burritos, corn fritters, and chili scrambled eggs, along with a lot of the classic options you’ll find for breakfast anywhere in Canggu.
But we would typically go on Taco Tuesday to take advantage of the 2-for-1 tacos (typically 35-40k each). The ‘Nacho Common Nachos’ with carnitas were also incredible!
Whether you’re coming for breakfast, lunch, or happy hour, The Common lives up to the hype.

36. Lola’s Cantina Mexicana
Opening Hours: 12:00 PM – 12:00 AM
Location: Batu Bolong
Lola’s Cantina is one of the most popular spots for Mexican food in Canggu, with a 2nd location in Uluwatu that we’ve also visited. Both Mexican restaurants offer the same casual, colorful setting and a menu full of tacos, burritos, nachos, and quesadillas, along with a few more creative options like jackfruit carnitas and loaded Mexi-fries.
Even though we’ve been here a handful of times, we almost always get the burritos because they’re HUGE, except on Sundays, when instead we’d go for the half-price tacos (the pork belly tacos are literally so good) — so if you’re staying for a few days, come on Sunday!
We’ve also tried the Smokey Mexi Wings as an appetizer!
It’s very busy in the evenings, so either arrive early or make a reservation.
37. Taco Casa Mexican Grill
Opening Hours: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Location: Echo Beach
Taco Casa is another great spot for fresh, made-to-order Mexican food without the whole party scene.
They have three locations (Canggu, Seminyak, & Ubud) and everything is prepared from scratch daily, from the tortillas to the guacamole, and you can taste the difference.
The menu covers all the staples — tacos, burritos, quesadillas, enchiladas, and big, fully-loaded nachos. We’re fans of their Chicken Fajitas and the Wet Burrito, which comes smothered in sauce and cheese.
Portions are generous, prices are reasonable, and you can customize nearly everything.

38. Jalapeño Canggu
Opening Hours: 12:00 PM – 12:00 AM
Location: Berawa
The cool thing about Jalapeño is that it’s a little more elevated than the rest of the Mexican restaurants around Canggu. They have all the classic dishes you’d expect, but make a real effort to create a full experience for people staying in Berawa.
For example, you get live music on Mondays and Saturday nights, special fajitas on Friday, and on Sundays you can bring a date and order their signature ‘Sunday Skewer’.
The atmosphere is sleek but still casual, and there are only a handful of seats, making it feel more intimate for date night or catching up with a couple of friends.
Best Sushi Bar & Ramen
Sarah and I aren’t the biggest fans of seafood, so sushi isn’t something we often go out of our way to find.
That said, we realize we’re definitely in the minority, so we’ve included two restaurants that we hear people talking about constantly!
39. Sushimi
Opening Hours: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
Location: Berawa
Sushimi is one of the best places in Canggu for sushi. You’ll find classics like salmon nigiri, spicy tuna rolls, and California rolls alongside more creative options such as tempura prawn rolls and tuna tataki.
The space is modern and comfortable. Prices are based on plate color, but they have a big Sunday Special where ALL plates from the conveyor belt are just 20K, letting you try a variety of dishes without over-ordering.
The quality is consistently good, service is quick, and they have plenty of vegetarian options. It’s a convenient choice if you’re craving sushi in Berawa (or Seminyak/Uluwatu)
40. TYGR Berewa
Opening Hours: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
Location: Berawa
TYGR has two locations in Canggu. There’s one spot right on Batu Balong on your way out of town, and another location close to Berawa Beach (there’s a 3rd in Ubud, but that’s for another post).
TYGR is Bali’s first hand-rolled sushi Bar, and feels way more upscale than Sushimi, offering specialty sushi rolls and a variety of Japanese dishes like sashimi, poke, and ramen!
The sushi is fresh and well-prepared, with a mix of classic and signature rolls to choose from.
We also thought the poke bowls were generous, and the ramen is a nice alternative if you’re not in the mood for sushi.
41. Ramen Hamatora Canggu
Opening Hours: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
Location: Batu Bolong
Ramen Hamatora specializes in authentic Japanese ramen.
The menu includes several styles, from classic tonkotsu and shoyu to miso and (my personal favorite), the spicy miso. In addition to ramen, they offer small plates such as gyoza, karaage chicken, and edamame, making it easy to build a full meal.
It’s one of the best spots in Canggu if you’re looking for a comforting, filling meal.
Best Fine-Dining in Canggu
While Canggu is best known for its casual cafés and beach bars, it’s also home to a growing number of fine-dining restaurants with creative menus, elevated service, and beautiful settings.
These are ideal for special occasions or a date night out when you want something a little more refined. Here are the best fine-dining experiences in Canggu.
42. Ulekan
Opening Hours: 12:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Location: Berawa
ULEKAN is the place to go when you want gourmet Indonesian Food, with authentic Bebek Goreng, Sate Ayam, a variety of sambols, Rendang Sapi (curry), desserts, and other delicacies.
It was our favorite date night we had in Canggu!
The atmosphere is clean and fancy, and although it’s on the pricier side for Bali, the food is exceptional.
Back on our honeymoon, they offered a 5-course tasting menu, but unfortunately, that’s been discontinued (at least at their Berawa location).
43. M. Mason
Opening Hours: 12:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Location: Batu Bolong
M. Mason is another spot with locations in both Canggu and Uluwatu.
The fancy, fine-dining restaurant right off Batu Bolong. You can’t miss it on your right-hand side while heading to the beach.
It’s a Mediterranean restaurant, one of the few cuisines that remain relatively scarce in Bali. We noticed an emphasis on wood-fired cooking, house-made charcuterie, and fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
44. Mostly
Opening Hours: 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Location: Pererenan
Mostly is a modern fine-dining restaurant in Pererenan that has quickly earned a reputation as one of the best in Bali.
We haven’t visited yet, but it was highly recommended by several expats living in Pererenan.
The restaurant has a very intimate setting and serves Asian inspired dishes (mostly centered around sushi), but we also noticed a lot of noodle dishes on their lunch menu (laksa, pad thai, pho, ramen) and main dishes like Lamb Shank Curry and Wagyu Beef Brisket.
More of Our Favorites in Canggu
45. Café The Daun
Opening Hours: 9:00 AM – 11:30 PM
Location: Batu Bolong
Café The Daun is a cozy, modern café with both indoor and outdoor seating, and we found ourselves here working more days than we can count while living in Canggu.
Since it’s primarily a café, they serve a variety of typical breakfast and brunch food, like avocado toast, smoothie bowls, and eggs Benedict. But for lunch/dinner, the menu has a bit of everything, including pizza, pasta, burgers, Mexican food, curries, sandwiches, etc.
But we actually loved the Wet Burrito and the Nachos more than anything else!
Prices are also quite cheap for its location in Canggu, and the wifi is super strong. We’d often come here in the morning and spend all day working over a couple of cups of coffee and multiple snacks.

46. Best Greek Food – Santorini
Opening Hours: 9:00 AM – 12:00 AM
Location: Echo Beach
Santorini is a small, family-run Greek restaurant with a few locations across South Bali, but the one we visited was just a short walk from Echo Beach. The menu is straightforward but full of authentic Mediterranean staples like moussaka, souvlaki, and meze plates.
We came here twice during our stay in Canggu and ordered the gyros both times!

Having spent a couple of months in Greece, we were pleasantly surprised by how close the flavors came to what we remembered.
It’s not easy to find truly authentic Greek food in Southeast Asia, but Santorini did a great job of capturing that same simple, comforting style.
47. Best Homestyle British Food – The Barn
Opening Hours: 9:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Location: Batu Bolong
Back in University, I did a study abroad in Manchester, and The Barn brought me right back!
This is where you go in Canggu for classic British comfort food.
The setting feels like a traditional gastropub, complete with rustic wdécor décor and all the staples you’d expect, from fish and chips and hearty meat pies to peri-peri chicken and full English breakfasts.
They also serve proper Sunday roasts!
48. Best Korean BBQ – Seoul Soul Project
Opening Hours: 9:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Location: Echo Beach
You’re probably noticing a trend here, but we like going out for food that reminds us of different places we’ve lived, and after teaching in Korea for over 2 years, we’re always looking for authentic Korean dishes.
Seoul Soul Project is the best spot for Korean Food in Canggu, and they have ALL of the meals we remember loving in Korea. Of course, have Korean BBQ, but also Kimchi Fried Rice, Bibimbap, and Korean Fried Chicken.
They also have karaoke rooms and bingsu (shaved ice) for dessert!
49. Best Thai Food – Oh My Thai
Opening Hours: 9:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Location: Echo Beach
Oh My Thai is a casual spot near Echo Beach that delivers surprisingly authentic Thai flavors.
The menu covers all the familiar staples like curries, pad thai, stir-fries, and soups, but what stood out most for us were the curries.
I ordered the green curry, and Sarah opted for the Penang curry.
Both were right on par with what we had just eaten in Thailand before arriving in Bali.
The portions were on the smaller side, but the food itself was fresh and satisfying. It’s a simple, affordable choice if you’re in the Echo Beach area and craving something that feels like the real deal.
